CG Engineering provided the civil and structural design for this building addition and renovation project. The existing structure was a 12,000 square foot single-story CMU building with heavy wooden roof trusses spanning from wall-to-wall on a 1.84 acre site. Because of the age of the existing building, the additions were designed to carry all of the lateral loads from the existing structure as well as the new additions. During construction, the owner requested additional features to the project. CG Engineering provided the design of a ramp, wash bays for vehicles, additional pump systems, and improvements to the street beyond the City of Puyallup’s initial requirements.
