Retaining wall with tie-backs
CG Engineering provided structural design for a permanent slope stabilization retaining wall consisting of steel piles, tie-backs, and wood lagging. An irrigation pipe failed causing flooding in the basement of the house and an outflow of water onto the steep slope on the northwest side of their property. Due to conditions associated with the flooding, part of the steep slope failed and caused a slide. Our scope of work was to design a retaining wall near the top of the existing slide, extending along the top edge of the steep slope. The wall serves to stabilize a pool and back yard area, and limit further ground movement. Behind the wall, the steep slope will be graded and replanted.
