CG Engineering provided structural engineering for the replacement of surge gates at a marina on Orcas Island. The existing gates were constructed of timber pile bulkhead and large rock ballast on the interior. The timber piles had deteriorated and needed replacement. Our engineer visited the site and developed a design to replace the timber piles with steel sheet piles that would also extend along the west side of the marina where the bank had eroded. CG coordinated with the geotechnical engineer to design tiebacks with Deadman anchors to stabilize the sheet piles.
