4545 BUILDING
This project involved upgrading mechanical systems that serve a 4-story 56,000 square foot office building, and the lower level of an adjacent 120,000 square foot parking garage. The project included support and bracing of a new chiller and cooling tower on the roof of the parking structure as well as bracing of new cooling units, pumps, piping, and conduits.
The bracing and support of the mechanical systems were designed for immediate occupancy level forces to ensure operations during and after a seismic event. Structural design and details were provided for the seismic bracing of several CMU and steel stud partition walls to meet the immediate occupancy requirements. Stair framing and interior CMU stair walls in the stair towers, were also upgraded.
VERIZON DATA CENTER
This data center was constructed in an existing tilt-up warehouse building. CG Engineering designed a seismic rehabilitation of the structure that included: strengthening of roof diaphragms, drag struts and an interior shear wall.
Structural reinforcement of the roof beams and joists was required to support roof top mechanical equipment. CG Engineering also provided construction support services to the design build contractor.
