MERCER ISLAND RESIDENCE
NEW CONSTRUCTION
CG Engineering provided the structural design for this new three-story residence of approximately 11,000 square feet including a three car garage. It will have a daylight basement. The floors will have in-floor heating and a 1” to 1½” concrete topping.
Shoring was required on three sides. This expedited the construction of the foundation because less excavation and backfill were required. Civil design included grading and drainage plans, a utility plan and an erosion control plan.
LAKE WASHINGTON RESIDENCE
ADDITION TO EXISTING STRUCTURE
CG Engineering provided the structural design of a 3,000 square foot, third-story addition to this two story approximately 6,000 square foot residence. The existing house has one story of concrete construction and one story of wood construction. Addition of the third floor significantly increased loading to the existing foundation.
Wherever practical, new columns were added through the concrete slab down to the foundation and new footings cut in where new loads came down on the foundation. CG provided onsite field investigation of foundation conditions and slab and beam reinforcing.
FOUNDATION REPAIR
CG Engineering provides a structural engineering foundation investigation with repair recommendations in residential and commercial structures.
We can provide a level survey that measures relative settlement of the floor plan.
