SAMAMMISH PRESBYTERIAN
The Sammamish Presbyterian Church project included a new 420 seat sanctuary. This is an addition to the one-story existing sanctuary which was remodeled into the foyer and connected to the new sanctuary.
The main entrance was built with heavy timber braces and a wood roof. The new sanctuary roof was framed with open web steel girders and wood joists with a plywood deck. Wind and seismic forces are resisted by steel columns and beams and concentrically braced frames. The walls are metal stud infill.
CROSSROADS BIBLE CHURCH
CG Engineering provided structural engineering services for this approximately 100,000 square foot one story building remodel. The building is a steel framed building with structural brick exterior walls. The building is constructed on a pile foundation with a structural slab.
MAPLE PARK LUTHERAN
The Maple Park Lutheran Church project is a sanctuary addition to the existing church building. CG Engineering completed the civil engineering site drainage design; grading and site improvement plans with associated parking. The extensive civil site design was required for protection of Category 1 wetlands and a Type 3 stream tributary to Swamp Creek.
Storm water facilities were designed to protect the integrity of the downstream land, specifically the wetlands. More restrictive design methods were required such as discharging the 7,000 CF combined detention/water quality tank at a controlled release rate per Department of Ecology standards. An infiltration trench was designed to accommodate the roof runoff from the church. A storm filter system was designed for water quality treatment of pavement areas subject to pollutants.
